98 2.5 timing issue

I just replaced the timing belt on a 98 2.5 ranger. now there is noise coming from the valve area. I checked the timing marks and they appear to be right. the timing is at 10 degrees, which I believe to be right. The noise sounds more like a oil starvation than a timing issue, but the truck didn't have the noise before as far as i know. Any thoughts?
