98 2.5 engine upgreads

well before with the 3.45s i had in it i couldnt ever use the 5th gear it just dogged it down to cruise now i can easily

i know i can now use 5th gear and has alot more pull up grades and i even liked that help my fuel milage. had a ford tech friend cheack the gears put in new royal purple oil n was good to go. best bets to find a 8.8 from a 4.0 ranger with what ever gears it has n have em swapped .

Or just buy a 4.10 geared axle and bolt it in... There is no reason to have to do a gear install when you can find an axle with them already in it... Also, there is no need to swap in an 8.8"... The 7.5" is more than strong enough to handle the little 4 banger...

yeah true but hes wanting to add some type of power adder figured id save him some head ache n peiece of mind n not have to worry about holding up to some sort of boost. im adding boost to mine and there wa sno way i was gona leave the 7.5 in there

hoss429, i use my 5th gear a lot, to cruise at 2k rpm, even in plain roads i can use it in the 1500 rpm , about 60kmh, i was thinking about the 4.10 to have more acceleration, to keep the pace with my bro's 3.0 lol!
