'97 Rim Swap

I have the stock basic rims on my '97 2WD. I want to goto the junkyard and get the nicer alloy ones or any of the ones under the Ranger Rims on this page.

My question is, if my rims are 14" can I use any of the 15" from any of those ones on that page that fall within my 1997 without a spacer? Or would the most straightforward route be a direct swap from a 1997 with a different style rim?

I basically just want anything different than what I have currently, and want to take the tires off the rims now and throw them on the ones I get from the junkyard.

Thanks

Any Ranger or Explorer wheel will fit your 2wd. The only exceptions are the 2004-up Explorer and 2007-up Sport Trac wheels, the bolt pattern is the same but the offset is different so you will need a spacer for those.

If I'm reading that right, no you can't put 14" tires on 15" rims and vice versa.

For your truck I would recommend 215/75-15 or 225/70-15 tires.
If you find some 4wd 16" rims instead then you can run 225/60-16 or 235/60-16 tires.
