What are most of the guys using for their clutch set-ups? Cable or hydraulic? I am trying to help a friend out with a problem he is having with a truck he just bought. The situation is this: When you press the clutch pedal, the clutch doesn't disengage enough to shift the transmission. As far as I can tell, whoever did the 5.0 / T-5 install left the factory 4cyl hydraulic clutch parts in the truck(reservoir, slave cylinder, lines, pedal, etc). Any help or direction with this problem would be greatly appreciated. I will also continue to search the message board for ideas/pictures to assist with this problem. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Check and see if it is bled all the way mine did the same thing but bled it more and it works fine. Im using all the 4cyl stuff too

If it has an external slave cylinder (it likely does), add some preload to the clutch fork by adjusting the rod in the slave, or replacing the rod with a piece of allthread and some creative nuts and washers.

My slave pushed on the clutch fork significantly at rest. But it does not slip, and easily goes into every gear.

Cable here and would not have it another way.
