Ok. I'm giving this a go and if i put it in the wrong spot mods i'm sorry. Essentiall what i got going on is a truck that bucks and kicks like a bull. When i got the truck i replaced the plugs, wires, and ignition coil. The plugs and wires were horrid, 3 of the wires were broke and 4 of the 6 plugs had either the electrode melted or were glazed with varnished fuel. lol. So she was running on 2 to maybe 3 cylinders. Well the issue calmed down slightly after i done that but this thing still kicks. It feels like the transmission kicking however i don't know if its the tranny or the engine. Lately here i have been starting off in 1 and manually shifting the automatic through the first 3 and that seems to help. Overall though its just got a bad kick and buck to it. The throttle cable had becomed stretched so i pulled it back through to get the slack out and zip tied it off. Anyone have any ideas what might be up with it? I have been told a vaccum line, trans filter, or the transmission cooler.

im sure there has to be a CEL on, get it scanned.

Second.

Is there fresh gas in it?
Change the fuel filter, it might me be clogged but it dosen't hurt to change it.
Check the Egr valve...thinger mine is gone and it some times stumbles, idles rough.
Air filter..its worth a check.

Fresh gas as of Christmas day 2008. Air filter appeared to be relativley new when i got it. It was still white with very little dirt on it. I was thinking the fuel filter myself, i have seen riding mowers do the same thing when the fuel filter gets clogged. Anyone know where the fuel filter is? I'm thinking from what it was on a friends its somewhere under the cab close to the bed. I'll get it scanned again, i had it scanned and thats how we figured out the ignition coil was bad.

Filter is under the cab, driver's side close to about where the driver's seat is and inside the frame rail. You'll need one of those (plastic) connector release tools to get it out of there. Pick one up when you buy the filter.

Just thought i would update this thread. After i done some looking and talking to a few people online, found out its the overdrive feature. lol. I shut it off tonight and she ran just fine.

Anyone know what part or parts could cause this? I'm not sure if it would be the torque converter or just a solenoid or something else. Without the overdrive off there is still a slight buck but if anything it feels more like the engine running then the transmission kicking.
