hi all. i am looking for some wirng info on mating the 42 pin connector of a 97 explorer 5.0 with a 96 4.0 ranger chassis. the only two major differences i see are that the explorer has a fuel tank pressure transducer and the ranger does not. also the explorer uses a vapor managment valve for the evap system while the ranger uses a purge valve and purge flow sensor. if any one has any info on how to get these two harnesses to play nice it would be much apprieciated because in my state a check engine light means no inspection sticker for you.:icon_confused:

any luck with this as i have the same issue

It's all plug n play, you will have to wire in those sensors, I deleted them from the programming on mine...

how did or who turned off the evap system. I have been pulling wiring on the donor explorer and the wires go from the back charcoal canister to under the drives seat back to the rear compartment near the rear windshield washer pump to some relay box.

I turned them off/deleted it via my SCT tuner...

i found some wiring diagrams and i am going to attemp to re pin and wire it up so that the evap will work.
