Anyone ever put a '97 dash in a '94 cab?? I'm about to do it and wanted to see if anyone has done it and could give me some pointers.

You'd need to weld in the entire firewall from a '95+ to have a working HVAC system.

Is that because of the way the heaterbox connects to the blower motor through the firewall?

Lets see...
Heater box mounts totally different.
Steering column mounts different.
dashboard mounts different.

I'm sure there are a ton of other differences, but you get the picture.

swap cabs?

The 97s are the ones that require dash removal to change the heater core if I'm not mistaken...so you might want to consider that before going ahead...either scrap the idea or make sure you put in a new core before assembly...

Ehhh... It only takes about 30 minutes to pull that style dash.

Really? That's about how long it takes me to pull mine apart...and I've read a few posts from guys saying the process took them hours...but...maybe they just took their time and were drinking a beer a screw to reward themselves for the hard work...lol

I have both trucks('94 &'97) the '97 looks like it was on the bottom of the ocean but the interior is spotless. The '94 on the other hand the interior was crap, truck sat outside with no rear window, but the truck has zero rust. '97 dash was def easy to take out had it out in about 45mins. I was comparing them yesterday and the only major differences I saw were the driverside dash mounting, pedal assembly, and the heater box. With some cutting of the firewall and modding to the pedal assembly and driverside dash mounts it'll fit.

I thought the wiring was different, electric speedo, wiring under the hood wont bolt up will it???
