97 5.0 swap question

Hey guys im new to the forum. I have a 97 ranger 2wd with a 5 speed manual transmission. I found a 93 cougar ho down the road from me. I plan to keep it stock and put a c4 tranny behind it. will the ecm and harness from the cougar work? Thanks in advance!

Believe that the '93' still used the AOD which was not computer controlled, no wiring involved other than NSS and back-up lights.

you are correct about the aod tranny mac. thanks for the help. do you know by chance if the 93 cougar had the short snout water pump that is needed for the swap?

I do believe they do. I've got the part numbers and will check.

Didn't the 93 5.0's have hyperneuolic (sp?) pistons?
