So recently I got this 96 Ranger 4x4 4.0L AUTO.

I was doing some research and noticed I was given a 2wd filter instead of a 4wd filter.

When it slipped this morning the o/d light flashed a couple times now it "feels" like its stuck in park and its fighting to go foward or reverse.

Story: I was noticing at higher rpms (3500) it was up shifting hard and wouldnt go past that even if I tried. So I checked the fluid level it was well above the full mark. Next day I changed the fluid and filter using dexron III. I drove it about 3 miles and it drove and shifted perfect, checked the level when I got home and it was still where it needed to be. 2 days later slipped and was low filled it up checked for leaks before I left and when I got back home there were no leaks and the level was fine. Now today it slipped again and it was still full.:hmpf:

It's in neutral and won't move now.

Ive tried pushing it into the garage and it wont move.
