96 ranger diff rebuild.

Thanks for all the help guys. Im going to do a 8.8 with a 3.55 or a 3.73 gear set. Going to get a limited slip diff for it do all the bearings axles and excet, basicaly make it a new rear end. Only going to do light towing as this is only a 4 banget at the moment so this set up should do. Want to get a cover plate with drain and fill holes to. As for disc brakes may just do the mustang swap.

you'd be better off getting an 8.8 with an open carrier then swap in a lockright locker. than buy the posi.

EXCEPT that its a 2WD truck that pretty much only sees the street. I doubt he wants everyone looking at him every time he turns a corner. The factory limited slip will do just fine for his application. If he wants to throw some extra money at it my suggestion would be a Detroit Tru-Trac but that isn't a necessary upgrade in this situation.

Just make sure to replace all the wear items in the factory LS before installing it, or it won't be long and you'll be taking it back apart to do it.
