96 ranger chimes

Hey guys,I have a 96 ford ranger 2.3cyl,and when i get into the truck,i have to sit for 30 seconds until the inside dome light turns off. because if i don,t, the door chime will just ring and ring.sometimes,it will turn off after 60 sec but other times i would have to disconnect the battery cable. when the truck is not running,the dome light stays on and the battery is dead in the morning.does anyone have an idea?

a bad door switch maybe? try playing with them and see what happens.

Mine did the same thing, I just took the bulb out. Gained 3 horsepower.

drown the door latches with wd-40

+1 on wd 40. spray thru the latch at the door jamb on the doors. it should lasty about 6 months and you might have to hit it again. you can use electrical cleaner also but that costs a lot more
