'96 Explorer & '99 Ranger trans interchangeable

Hello all,
Just a quick question. Will the automatic transmission and transfer case from a '96 explorer work in a '99 Ranger?
Both have the 3.0, and electronic shift 4x4 controls.

Explorer never, EVER came with a 3.0L. So no, they won't swap. The explorer will have a 4.0L.

I'm sorry, you're correct. I totally forgot about the Explorer using the 4.0.

How about the T-case, are those the same?
