im trying to run a 4r55e transmission from a 96 ranger in place of the a4ld
allong with all the wires and dash from 96 .

my question is should i splice dash harness to work on the old dash ? is it possible or should i continue fabricating to make 96 dash fit even though firewall is different .

or should i throw truck away because its a ford and im waisting my time trying to put another crap transmission in and i have 5r55e i was going to do in the future after 4r55e goes..

Not the best place to be Ford hating if you want help lol. But in any case if you want to continue I would look into what other guys did learn from their mistakes. I know a few guys have done similar swaps.

The 4R55E is far superior to the A4LD, but you are correct that you are wasting (if you are going to insult Ford at least use some proper f*****g grammar) your time swapping in a 4R55, or even a 5R55. If it has a torque converter instead of 3 pedals it is junk.

Way I figure it, drive stick or don't bother.
