96 Cab onto 94?

So after my barely month-old truck got t-boned, and knowing I probably won't get any insurance money from it, I am faced with the prospect of rebuilding. I have a fairly decent cab on my 96 parts truck, so I am wondering if anyone here has done a 4-Gen cab onto a 3-Gen swap. I assume the body mounts are the same, but what about the firewall? Dashboard mounts?

Any information or experiences would be helpful.

96 or 06? The 96 is a Gen 3 so it will swap. You may have issues with the wiring into the cab being it's set up for OBD II and air bags but the cabs are the same. Course if you have an 06 well that's different.

It's a '96. For some reason, I have it in my head that the OBD-II switch in '95 means a new generation, of course it's still 3rd.

I've noticed some differences in the firewall and the rad support, so this might be more trouble than I originally thought. I'm sure it'll bolt onto the frame, just running everything through the firewall and putting in the older style dash might be where I run into problems.

The nightmare doing that swap will be the wiring.

EVERYTHING is completely different.

And on the 1995-up trucks even the dome light is controlled by a computer module.
