96 Airbag removal...

Just wondering if anyone knows if the airbag on the 96 Ranger has anything to do with the computer? I found a separate air bag module by the kick panel and was thinking this was all I need to worry about removing...or will it throw a code or codes that will generate a CEL.

Main reason I'm asking is I don't know, but aside from that I want to delete the air bag completely if possible and put on a third party steering wheel.

Airbag module isn't involved in anything but the airbags that year. You don't even have to remove the module. You really just need to remove the bulb and the fuse for the module.

Not sure if someone would want to buy it but I've seen the price of a new one and might put it up on Kijiji...
