Hi all, I sucked a valve on my '93 3.0 manual Ranger Splash w/99k and have a '96 3.0 automatic w/175k lined up to buy. Are the bell housing bolt patterns compatible for a straight across swap? Also would this be the least of my prob's w/ wiring harness, motor mount's, etc.? Thanks for any help.Don't want to pull the trigger just yet till I hear from the forum.

Yes, the '96 3.0l will bolt to the manual trans.

BUT....to use the DIS(no distributor) ignition you would need to swap to a computer that had a manual.

I am not sure but I would think you could use the distributor from the '92 in the '96, the '96 uses a Cam position sensor in the distributor hole so the cam gear should be the same, and oil pump of course.
So no wiring or computer changes would be needed.
But do not no for sure on this

I don't think Flex Fuel was offered until '99 in Ranger 3.0l, they have different injectors

Crap, that motor is sold.I can still get a '98 though.Does the same info apply to that?
