95tm heads

1998 ranger 4.0 OHV with 98tm heads in California.
Would truck pass smog with the 95tm heads ? Anyone tried it ?

98TM heads had the narrower exhaust ports, this was to increase velocity down exhaust pipe and heat up cat converters sooner.
This was to meet EPA cold start standards.
Calif. Emissions testing is done with warmed up engines(and Cats) so don't see any issue there.

But no, never tried it
