Hi All

95 Ranger, 4.0, Auto, 4x4.

Transfer Case will not engage when it is very cold.

Been an intermittent issue for a few years.
Last week we swapped in the 3rd (maybe 4th) used Tcase motor and it worked fine.
This morning it is 3 degrees out and it did not engage again.

So I'm thinking it must be something other than the motor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Bill

First Find your control module and check the connections etc. The CM might be behind the radio, I'm not sure.
This DX procedure sounds odd but take a hairdryer and heat up the module. See if that does anything. Heat up the switch too. I'm not sure if the 95 has a seperate 4x4 relay, try heating that up or swapping it
