95 ranger stick shift hard shifting

ok i learned how to drive stick when ibought my frist ranger an 85 i drove it home and tought myself. no one says i drive stick wrong, but that truck i got rid of and bought a 95 4x4 2.3 ranger. Whenever i first start driving it shifts just fine. but a little while after its been running, shifting from first to second is like punching a wall. It shifts out of first nicely then when i go to 2nd it wont go down into second and ill push hard and still wont go i have to jiggle it around at times or i just wait and it finally goes into second. Thats the only one where its like that, not too sure why. someone said just double clutch it and it still does it at times. So please if anyone can help id be much appreciative. Id bring it to a dealership but they screwed me over last couple times i went haha.

Oh and at times when im slowing down in neutral it idles at 1.5k and ONLY when i come to a complete stop will it go back down to my normal idle of 1k

mine is hard to shift into 2nd when its cold, the trans shop said the 2nd gear syncro is worn, he said it was common on these trans. others have said the slave is getting weak, I dont have the answer, let me know if you find out anything.
