My dad has his old 95 ranger sitting around the house just rotting away ever since he bought his new car. its a 95 ext cab 4wd 4.0 5 speed. its got over 200k on the clock but its still in good useable condition so thats what im going to do, use it. it got pretty decent gas mileage which is one thing my DD does not (95 f150) so im going to redo a few things on it to get it back up to par and then ill be on my way. i was thinking about buying a smaller truck or car for gas mileage with my taxes but why do that when i can put half the time and money into the ranger and be dont with it.

The bad:
-frame pretty rusty, needs the back 3 cross members replaced
-tailgate bottom rusted away
-interrior carpet and seats completely trashed
-rear leaf spring hangers rotted away.
-rear shock mounts almost rotted away
-new headlights
-anything else motor wise that may need to be changed from sitting for a year or two
-headliner

The plan:
-rip out the carpet, sand down, prime, spray in bedliner the floor
-bucket seats from a junkyard with nice seat covers
-do all body work on outside as cheap as possible, primer it all gray and spray on bedliner the bottom all the way around
-custom metal bumpr on the back
-custom tailgate on the back

im sure im forgetting somethings but as for right now thats the plan. ill try and take as many pictures and update as often as i do anything.

Alright im actually starting this write up on day two.

Day one: i cleaned out all of the trash dad had in the thing, sorted it all out and bagged it up for him to go through. i then started to remove the seats. i got the passenger seat out and the 4 bolts on the driver seat minus the t50 star tip needed for the seat belt on that side because i broke my star tip...

Day two: after running to lowes after school and getting a new star tip i proceeded to go home and break another star tip just to get aggrevated and cut the track out with a sawzall so i could be on my way to ripping the carpet out. got the carpet ripped out and both rear jump seats out, again, minus the star tip for the seatbelts.. got it cleaned up for the most part before the rain started in too heavy and lost daylight

after day two i have a few questions...

1) anyone have a good idea on how to get these gosh darn t50 star tips out of the freaking floor? ive done broke two. i even tried using a sawzall on the driver seat bolt but gave up after bunring up 4 blades.. i even tried the impact wrench but nothing.. i guess grinder with a cutoff wheel is going to be next.

2) what is the little plug in that plugged into the plug in on the driver seat? what is it and what does it do? and how do i disable it because i almost guarentee the next set of seats i get will have a different plug in..

3) what are the two other plug ins going through the floor? im not going to mess with them but i would like to know what they are.

Heres some pictures for you guys. i still have to get some of the outside.

the jump seats are more than likely coming out and two boxes for 12's will be made to fit in those cubby holes.

the single plug you pictured is for the power seat stuff. Not sure what else it powers if you dont have power seats but you can always hardwire seats to the wires if the plugs are different.

The explorer seats i got didnt have a plug just wires so i cut the plug off the ranger seat and soldered it to the new seats just to have a quick disconnect if i take the seat out.
