95 351 Ranger

I can't be 100% certain but that engine doesn't look wide enough to be a 351.

Maybe it's a 351 Cleveland? I believe the Cleveland is a "small" block, while the "Windsor" is a big block.

In any event, that's one hell of a nice truck.

Those are Windsor valve covers. Neither the Cleveland nor the Windsor are considered big blocks.

Meanwhile across the country this one is listed for $5,500

Bone stock 2.0 in what seems to be fair condition.
The yellow one has some grill work to be done, it cheapens the look of the rest of the truck, along with the rubber floor mats.

Maybe CBX meant the 351M?
I'll bet you're right. The 351c had a small block bell housing pattern and the 351M/400 both used a tall deck block with the 385 series-429/460- bell housing pattern. The 351M was externally identical to the 400, just as heavy, just as thirsty for gas, and doggy. The 400 wasn't a ball of fire either.

It's also a flareside, Chevy built stepsides.

Clevor? Cleveland heads on a windsor block. Hot motors even with the factory 2v Cleveland heads.

Nope, those are Windsor heads.
I had a pair of motorsport valve covers for a Cleveland that look that same shape. They must be early heads for windsor.

All the Windsor based engines have the same valve cover gasket shape, the early ones just don't have much room for rocker arms. 255, 260, 289, 302, and 351w all have 6 valve cover bolts and Cleveland based engines-351c Boss 302, 351m, 400- have 8.

Still a small block in everything but bellhousing bolt pattern (of the 460 big block flavor). And for Ford who has to change bellhousing bolt patterns depending on the weather that doesn't really mean a whole lot
