i have a 95 ranger with a 3.0 i have a miss when running i pulled the plugs and the center plug on drivers side is soaked in fuel and you can smell raw fuel in the exuast system. I changed all the plugs and plug wires and made sure i was getting spark in that cylinder but the miss and gas smell is still there. anyone have suggestions? could i have a bad injector spraying fuel? please help

will do but would a bad fpr flood just one cylinder?

Swap plugs and wires with another cylinder to make sure them ain't the problem.

k i went and got a injector today and installed it while i had the upper intake off i decided to have my wife cycle the key on and its still pouring fuel into the #5 cylinder even with a new injector im gonna try a fpr now but wouldnt that do it with all cylinders?

the fuel pressure reg didnt help it i also noticed after i got a noid light that the #5 injector isnt pulsing but its remaining steady? ecm maybe im grasping at straws any suggestions would be awesome

Injectors have constant voltage, they fire as ECM grounds circuit. You seem to have grounded wire from injector. I'd first check that you don't have a bared wire grounding somewhere.

ok ill check that out also im not sure if its related but my speedometer and odometer have stopped working and im throwing 0305 code

I don't think they would. That sounds like the VSS in the rear diff.

Like mentioned before, look for a grounded wire. Get a wiring diagram and look for ground wires that run in the same loom. A continuity test will show which it's grounded to. It's tedious, but will work and prevent you from tearing into the wire loom.

I do know a CPS going bad will affect injector operation and cause misses. But just one? That I really am not sure of.

The FPR not fixing the problem didn't surprise me. It regulates fuel pressure to all, it would really affect one unequally. And a bad FPR would leak. It could have easily been checked.

well i went to my local pick=your part yard and grabbed a ecm from a 96 ranger with all the same options and installed it it seems that was the whole problem will update tomorrow after i drive it to work

A PCM "might" work. That is if it's a dead injector driver.
