Transmission
Automatic
370k miles on original engine, 3rd frenchy French
POS transmission, no smoke, otherwise great running.
Accelerating from a stop, it has very little power.
Other than the transmission, I have replaced the IAC 3 or 4 times, MAF 1 time, timing belt just done and when I found it off by 6 teeth, I had high hopes for it's better performance....not.
Fresh wires and plugs always.
Thoughts??

Check compression.
Timing belt being off would have made it very slow....because of the lower compression.

Compression tells the story of the firing of the cylinder's ability to transfer that energy to the crankshaft.
If valves or rings are leaking too much the transfer of the explosion to the crank is much less.

With engine running remove the oil filler cap or pull out dip stick, if there is a lot of out flow of "air"(blow-by) then rings would be the issue.
Or do a dry compression test then add a little oil to the cylinder and do a wet compression test, if pressure jumps up then rings would be the issue, if comporession is about the same wet then leaking valves would be the problem, either out of time(belt) or leaking seats.

At 370K i'd bet it has low compression.... Verify the engine is still mechanically healthy before further diag.
