94 Wrangler Wheels on 98 Ranger

Oh, the guy said he had em on his Wrangler. I really would love to do this. But don't you think it would look more awkward with big gaping holes in the rear tires while the front ones would be nicely filled in with hubs?

Also, how much did the machine shop charge you? The guy only wants 200 for all 4 wheels with 31s on them with 50% tread. So I'm thinking it might be wayy worth it to buy them and then get it machined but I'm not sure how much it'd cost. Thanks again

Look at the Jeep Canyon wheels on my 94, I had em bored out & used aftermarket push-through centers............I think they look good!

It cost me $10 per wheel to have em bored out & it took 30mins.

Oh cool, thats not a bad price after all. And yes I saw your pictures and they do look good...however I'm just a little confused about the aftermarket push-through centers? why did you need to bore them out if you have 2 wheel drive??

Jeep wheels have a SMALL center hole, won't fit over the front hub, rears aren't a problem

I am thinking of trying steel rims off a 1991 jeep yj 4x4 On a 2002 ford Ranger 4x4 ... Both have 15" wheels
Dont mean to Hijack this thread .. But can some of you Gurus tell me if they will work .. ?

Ok, I'm doin my best to explain to you what has to be done & why.....

Here's a pic of my wheels before machined & with factory center:

Look at the 1st photo in my post above of the closeup shot of my rim after bein machined out, but without the push-through center in.

Do you see how the hub stick out farther than the wheel does?

That's why they have to be machined....................

ALSO: a 2wd vehicle has a hub made onto the rotor, while alota your 4x4's have a seperate hub & rotor....

That's the widest factory Canyon or Gambler I've seen & haven't found anybody repoppin em...........I'd LOVE to have some Canyon 15X10's

have factorry 15x7s now.... i am reading that it isnt recomended to run a tire that wide on stock rims....

I had an 80 Toyota 4X4 w/7" of lift, 15X10 Enkie's & 33X12.5's on em, had a BLAST with that truck, but had to trade it, as when I got out of the service, it wasn't gonna pull 9000lbs of trailer behind it................

Your gonna give around $400 aluminum 15X10's...........Ultra's or Pacer's, those types of reasonably priced wheels.....

So, chvlfrk, I got the wheels today! I think they may need to be machined right up to the holes...hope it turns out alright. But first I wanted to ask you how you went about going to the shop about it? Did you have specific measurements for them?

I bought the center caps I wanted, took them with the wheels to the machine shop, & they machined em out to fit the centers. I already had tires on mine when I took em, so it took around 1 hr to do all 4, without the tires it would be easier & faster.

Oh okay. That seems like a good idea, however I dont think I'll be using center caps. I want to wait to see how the front ones turn out before that. I think i'll just give em my spare and say "make it as big as this hole" that was one other thing i forgot to ask is if you had tires on or not. My dad suggested that I get them removed before going to the machine shop, which is a probably good idea considering theyre 31 by 10.50s and seem bigger than i expected them to be! Thanks again--I will let you know how it turns out! Pics for sure
