94 Wrangler Wheels on 98 Ranger

Forgot...........

Oh okay. That seems like a good idea, however I dont think I'll be using center caps. I want to wait to see how the front ones turn out before that. I think i'll just give em my spare and say "make it as big as this hole" :icon_thumby: that was one other thing i forgot to ask is if you had tires on or not. My dad suggested that I get them removed before going to the machine shop, which is a probably good idea considering theyre 31 by 10.50s and seem bigger than i expected them to be! Thanks again--I will let you know how it turns out! Pics for sure

Not sure if you already contacted your machine shop, but I did forget to mention that the machine shop I used (friend works there) machines specialty stuff, and doesn't do cylinder heads, bore blocks, or anythin like that.

So, if you haven't contacted your machine shop, I'd suggest callin to see if they have the right machine to bore out the wheels.

GOOD LUCK!

No, i havent contacted them yet but plan on doing so after new years. My dad was doing some measurements, so we could give them numbers if that would help them...one thing I'm kinda worried about is that it will come right up to the edge of the hub holes on the new wheels. I just hope this doesnt pose a problem for them at the shop.

Are your wheels like mine.....Canyon's?

If so, you won't affect the integrity of the wheel.............if you cut them out too much, you WILL affect the integrity, and they would be DANGEROUS to use. A reputable machine shop will know a safe bore for the wheel.

Any pics of them as they are now?

I think they may be very much similar. They have the little pop-out hub caps and I tried to see out of curiousity how it'll fit on the front...and my hub got stuck about 1/8" before the little lip (see pic). Did yours have a lip?

I'm sure that the integrity of the wheel will be just fine. I'm quite sure that if it does come right up to the lug nut holes, it will only be at the very front part of it. Sorry pics are so big... :)

Those wheels are known as GAMBLER's, I almost bought a set of them a while back.............nice wheels!

I believe they have a bigger hole than my Canyon's did, you will probably just have to have that little lip inside & outside the hole removed and you'll be in business without caps.

Nice. I found a machine shop (within walking distance, even!) that said they've done this job a few times before and it'll be about 30 per wheel. First I have to get the tires removed then I'll get it done, hopefully all within the day. I'll keep ya's updated! thanks

They're done! The guy at the machine shop did a GREAT job!! Only thing is when I got the tires remounted, I forgot the whitewalls were on the inside :-P so it's different on the back, which doesnt matter cuz I'm getting new ones put on before too long anyways. Thank you for all your help and examples!

Yep, and crank my TB's a little, a dual catback exhaust or something good :headbang: I think I fell in love with my Ranger all over again after driving around with these bad boys on. I do think my speedo is WAY off...haha, it was 6mph fast with 235/75r15's on so who knows what it could be now. Gearing seems fine as well.
