I need help.I've got a 94 RangerXLT-3.0 w/A4LD tranny.The tranny slips and I hate it.Are there any trannys that I can adapt ?

how many miles and when was the trans fluid/filter changed? you may be looking at a torque converter. the only other trans i kno of you can install is an m50dr1 manual transmission, then your looking at changing the computer (to not throw transmission sensor codes) and swapping the trans/flywheel and installing the clutch assembly. the problem is the 3.0 has its own bolt pattern and will not bolt up to any other engine/transmission other than another 3.0 (taurus front wheel drive) or 3.8 front wheel drive (ford freestar). your 94 also has a modulator valve that go out on occasion, this will cause the trans to pump tranny fluid thru the vent lines into your heads and burn off in your valve seals. my 93 3.0 xlt 4wd did this. transmission also picked up after this was changed along with a fluid/filter change.
