Hey guys thanks up front found this site looking info about my truck. I have a 94 ranger 2x4 2.3 liter. My wife was driving it and it just shut off. I used a paperclip to pull codes and I got the following 116 121 211 221 223 224. I looked up the codes but as a diesel mechanic I'm lost. If you guys could be of any help I'd greatly appreciate it again thanks in advanced

I did pull a plug and it got spark and I depressed the straton valve on the fuel rail and it's getting fuel

Schrader valve, should have quite a squirt out of this, 35psi, so like the air out of a tire

For gas engines it's the big 3, spark, fuel and compression

It is a non-interference engine, and the timing belts do break on these, so engine just stops, no damage outside of the tow bill.

Do you get the steady whoosh, whoosh, whoosh when cranking with a spark plug out

116 ECT(engine coolant temp) sensor out of range
121 TPS(throttle position sensor) out of range

211 ignition signal erratic
221
223 SPOUT or IDM circuit fault, ignition system
224 Failure in ignition coil primary circuit

These all read like computer has a problem, only common thread between them would the power, check the fuses in the power box in the engine compartment.
Also check the connection on the computer

It was the timing belt. No tow charge towed it home on my gooseneck with my other truck. Got it all back together. Ill clear the codes today and drive it to see what comes back in because the check engine light would cone on every so often

Ignition codes were probably set when Cam position sensor(CPS) stopped outputting data when belt broke.
Crank position sensor(CKP) would have still be active until crank stopped spinning.
These two sensors are used for ignition timing.

ECT sensor and TPS sensor can be test with volt or OHM meter
Both should have 5volts in, then varying voltage out, .7 to 4.8volts
So resistance sensors, OHMs should change with temp(ECT) and movement(TPS)
