Hi I have a 94 ranger and recently put new injectors in, I have fuel pressure and the fuel pump works I have spark and compression but my truck won’t run it turns over any ideas why?

Spray starting fluid in the throttle body. Will it at least attempt to start by doing this?

Then If you have proper fuel pressure at the rail your injectors aren't firing. Start by checking fuses, and check voltage at the injectors. I dont have a wiring diagram for a 94 but one wire should be positive and showing 12 volt all the time. The injectors open by pulsing to ground so the other wire should be open circuit.

Injectors fire I checked before putting the upper intake manifold on again.

If it runs off starting fluid, you have a fuel issue... no fuel pressure, injectors not firing, etc. Double check everything in the fuel system.

The plugs are coated in fuel so no there is not a fuel problem

So you say you have:
1. Spark
2. Compression
3. Fuel

and it will run off starting fluid...
Am I correct?

If it can run off starting fluid it can run off gas...

It doesn’t run off starting fluid it tries to run off starting fluid but it never starts

Ok... Wet plugs, won’t run off starting fluid...

You said you have compression, what do the numbers look like for each cylinder?
You have spark... Is it a strong blue spark or a weak looking yellow arc?

Why did you replace the injectors? Did it run before and after you replaced them?

Sure sounds flooded to me...

how over full is the oil?

It’s a good blue spark and I replaced the injectors because it didn’t have any balls when flooring it and I was checking it out and found a cracked injector so I replaced the whole bank because why not plus it’s a new truck and I don’t know what the old owner has done

I have a guy having the same problem in a 1990 with a 2.9 it had bad gas in it cus it sat for 2 years with the gas cap off But the door was shut. He's changed the Fuel pump and It will fire under when you shoot starting fluid in it but won't stay running. so when we find his problem it should fix the other guys problem

I replaced the injectors in my '94 4.0 and it would run rough at best, finally died and wouldn't start. Plugs were black. Put the old injectors in and it runs perfectly. I think the injectors were too big for the truck but they were supposed to be direct replacements.
