alright,
i just bought a 94 ranger from my brother. the 94 had a 3.0 in it, but it blew, so my bro put his old 4.0 out of his 92 in my 94. Confused yet? anyways, there's multiple "noises" comin from the thing and although it runs great, it sounds like its been run over by a freight train. Theres a clicking noise everytime i push the gas and when im sitting still, idling. This is the worst and loudest sound. Also, there is a whistle noise once i get to 4th gear and overdrive when i push the gas. its pretty faint, but still doesn't sound right. One last noise, theres some dash rattling going on when i first take off. Has anyone had this? what gets loose often?
there is also very bad smoke. in the morning when its 25 outside, of course, but even when the truck is warmed up, it seems to be burning oil? what could be going on? My exhaust pipe was bent forward slightly by the previous owner so all exhaust when sitting still or moving slowly is blown forward instead of out the back. is this bad for the engine? it seems like it would be because it makes it harder for the exhaust to escape the engine?
thanks so much for the help,
