I've done a little bit of digging, but I'm a bit confused on how to recalibrate my speedometer.

I had 3.27's and I went to 3.73's. Can I , or do I , Just go to the junkyard and pull a speedo gear off a explorer / ranger that had 3.73's? I'm not sure If i understand why some would have a different number of teeth..etc. I haven't pulled mine out yet, but I'd just assume that if it comes out of a 3.73 geared truck.. it should work?

I swapped gears once on my f-150. The gears were in the trans on the end of the cable. Remove bolt holding cable end. Remove a c-clip and swap in different colored plastic gear and replace c-clip. bolt cable back into trans....Real easy. I think it would be the same for most transmissions with cable actuated speedos.

you have to match the speedo gear to the axle gearing and the tire size, go HERE and look around, it will probably answer your questions

Great thanks, I didn't think to check the Tech Section. Appreciate the Help.
