94 Ranger owner, 4.0 swap, explorer axle swap

I was a member for about four years, my profile got deleted so I made another one.

I am a student at Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) studying Vehicle Design.

I have taken my 94 ranger xl from a slow junkie truck and slowly made it better.

List of upgrades includes:

4.0L swap
8.8 exploder axle swap with disk brakes
1 Piece driveshaft swap
97 ranger bucket seats with power lumbar
Goodyear MT/R 31x10.50s
Custom stereo

i have on 03 ranger and saw a kid with an 04 with the exploder axle swap. could you give me some information on that swap. i want to do a swap on mine for the disc brakes. is it super expensive and does any custom welding or anything need to be done?
