Transmission went out on my 94 manual ranger and looking to swap this 97 transmission in. I noticed the 97 only has one sensor compared to my 94 with 2? I’ve seen some threads that’s it’s fine without connecting and others contradicting it. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers

Why not simply swap the top covers? All the sensors are in the top cover anyway, so…..

I’d prefer to use the shift tower from the new one, better shift forks. But I will swap them if I need.

Well in that case, take all the rails and forks and suck from the 97 cover, and swap them into the 94 cover.

Or, as stated, ignore the “neutral sensing switch”… which is pointless and serves no purpose, and simply plug in the reverse switch (the red one) and drive it.

That’s what I was planning, if it’s pointless though I’ll just leave it👍🏻 thanks for the response
