yeah, anything 87 or newer in the ranger line is just a centered needle (at least as far as oil goes).
and how to convert it back to a real mechanical gauge
In the F-series we did this on the farm to all the trucks just by replacing the gauge and sender together - Rangers don't all have modular dashes where you can swap out gauges and later they ran oil pressure through the fuel slosh module (guessing the resistor is in there instead of soldered on the back of the board)
