94 Ranger Leaking Gas After Sea Foam

This got posted in the wrong thread, meant to add it here:

yeah, anything 87 or newer in the ranger line is just a centered needle (at least as far as oil goes).
and how to convert it back to a real mechanical gauge

In the F-series we did this on the farm to all the trucks just by replacing the gauge and sender together - Rangers don't all have modular dashes where you can swap out gauges and later they ran oil pressure through the fuel slosh module (guessing the resistor is in there instead of soldered on the back of the board)

Well I fixed the fuel filler neck and hose today. It was definitely cracked and leaking. Thanks so much for the insight I'm hopeful that was the fuel leak I was having. I posted a video of the rough idling without sound and what the oil gauge does. Any insight on that mahalo

Well unfortunately after a sharp highspeed turn today I've still got strong gas fumes coming off the car even when parked and turned off. Don't know what the deal is. Haven't seen any leaking all day but the smell is so strong after that turn.

Out of curiosity, How full was the tank when you took the hard turn?

Only smelling gas after a hard turn seems to suggest that sloshing is what is causing the smell. So possibility's are sending unit seal, Hole in the tank near the top and the fuel filler tube/neck.

Filler neck/tube known to be issues on these years gen.

mine seeps just enough that my smog check noticed and almost didnt pass.

I've got a brand new filler neck just installed a couple days ago. Mine was badly cracked so was hoping that would fix the issue. But it seems that it didn't completely. Also the gas was less than half a tank. But the turn was really sharp.

Wonder if the grommet around the vent in the tank has rotted…
