How difficult would this precedure be to replace the sending unit on a 2.3 ranger?
my fuel gauge dont work but randomally the gauge will show different fuel levels one day might be full one day empty one day a quarter of a tank.
my guess is it might be a bad ground somewhere in the system but im gonna just buy a new unit regardless.
is it a difficult thing to do?? any tips of anything you guys could give as well would help.
i dont think a haynes manual does into depth of fixing it so yea...
thanks

I pull the box off and just unscrew the big plastic nut off the tank. But you are right,it sounds like a ground.I,d check that first as sending unit are a little costly(to me anyways)Squirt a little PB blaster on the bolts ahead of time, makes it a lot easier and put some anti seize on em before they go back in.

Sending unit is included in fuel pump assembly that sells for $281 at Auto Zone

This the way i would do it.. clean up the bolts and never seize them in case you need to pull the bed off again.. Sending unit is right there.on top of the fuel tank.

made a new thread with a question so dont wanna double post, check it out please

thanks
