I have been reading posts all over the net but none I have come across give me a clear answer.

When I push in the clutch to take it out of gear, the clutch makes a clicking noise half way down. Also it does not take it out of gear till near the bottom and is somewhat hard to push down.

Is there a sleeve I should check or an adjustment?

(I bought the truck just after the clutch itself was replaced by a mechanic.)

So you bought the truck after someone made an expensive (labor intensive) mistake.

There are no adjustments, the system is hydraulic. However these use a self-adjusting pressure plate. If the clutch disc is replaced but not the pressure plate the plate ehas to be reset by putting it in a press and working it all the way open. It is possible that didn't happen.

I bought it from a friend for $200. He was in the process of buying a newer full size truck when he had to replace the clutch.

I will ask him exactly what work was done to the clutch. If I remember right, the mechanic was a Ford mechanic so hopefully the work was done correctly.
