i have a 94 ranger with a 4.0 4wd with the a4ld. im sick of replacing the a4ld and have almost everything to put the 5-speed in. i was wondering if the stock automatic computer will work or will i have to get a manual copmuter? also, what do i do about the clutch safety switch? is there a connector for in my truck already or do i have to put it in. im not worried about the reverse lights yet. thanks replies appreciated.

I've done this swap on my truck, so let me see if I can help. The wiring will be there for the interlock switch. As for the computer I'm not for sure but I dont think you have to swap, but without swapping your check engine light will probrably stay on and the interlock wont work.(You will be able to start the truck without pushing in the clutch) As for your reverse lights you need to get a wiring harness for a manual tranny. Theres a pigtail connector at the back of the engine that goes down to the transmision (for the neutral saftey switch, shift solinoids, and reverse light switch on a automatic) Hope this helps

does anybody know if the cruise is controlled by the computer or if its like the 4wd, controlled seperate?
