Ok so here's whats up. I have a 94 ranger 4x4 all stock besides wheels and tires and interior. I am doing some work on the whole thing since it's paid off i figured wth why not dump some money into it right??? Well so far the interior looks amazing. BUT the exterior needs help as well as the engine bay. What i am curious about is swapping a v8 into my truck. What is the best route to go? Ive done alot of reading about these swaps but i dont know exactly what the best way to go is. Id like to keep it EFI because carbs seem to lose fuel on the trails. I use this truck as an everyday driver as well as a trail rig so im trying to find a middle point. I know that id like to get an 8.8 under the rear of it but i have no clue as to what to use for a transfer case because the v8 is going to over power the stock one right? What all would i need to put a v8 into my truck to make it seem like this was a stock v8 4x4 ranger? Also which would be better an explorer or mustang EFI engine with a t5 because my truck is a manual already. Any info would be great from some people who have done this swap already. Curious about everything on this swap time money ect. Hope to be sportin some more power then the stock 4.sl0w
