94 Ranger 4wd Driveshaft question

My Ranger is a 94 Super cab 4x4. Yesterday when going down the interstate one of my u joints broke that I just replaced less than a week ago. Upon further inspection after removing the entire shaft, the joint is bent on the front shaft that meets to the transfer case. I have been debating my next step. I may see if a shop can fix shaft so the new u joint fits back in properly. My other option is to find a new or reman'd shaft. My issue with a replacement shaft is that I can only find the rear part of the shaft and not the front piece that has the carrier bearing pressed on it. If you guys could shed any insight on my issue I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Not much help but the best thing would be to find a 1 piece shaft from a later model Ranger. At least that is what the exp guys say. :D

I agree. The 1-piece shaft swap would be the way to go here. It eliminates the problematic carrier bearing, and a u-joint from the system, which is two less places for failure and two less pieces you might have to buy down the road.

When you are already having to replaced a drive shaft is the time to do it.
