94 grand cherokee axles

Any axle can work, just depends on how much time you want to spend on them...The grand cherokee axle can work, but you'll need to fab some rad arm brackets, as the GC uses link bars. Not sure on the coil cup width, if it is off, it can't be by much. The axle is close to the width of a ranger, a little wider, but manageable.

I wouldn't use them... The rear D35 is weaker than a Ford 7.5", and the front D30 is weaker than a Dana 35 in there already... If it's got a rear D44 it has an aluminum center section (which is ghetto) and it's completely different than any other D44 out there...

Thanks Bean, I forgot about the aluminum centers...

gran cherokees are low pinion dana 30(weaker than its cherokee high pinion brother), an some have CV joints,

better off with a regular Cherokee Dana 30 if your gonna go that route

Of course the D30 is junk.... Not. Tons of them running Moab daily. As long as you aren't crazy on the skinny pedal it survives just fine. Forget the D35 in the rear though, it isn't any better than the 7.5" Ford rearend. If the ZJ has the D44, it isn't great but better than a D35 anyday, but really limited gearing choices. Truss the housing and its not too bad.

Naturally, I'm a Jeep guy, with a Grand Cherokee. I wheel with folks that still have their D30s under their Jeeps and they aren't easy on them.

And I'm puttign a High Pinion D30 from a Cherokee under my Ranger. Using TJ long arm front lowers, JK front uppers with some mods, and will fab a trackbar and mount. Why this D30? I got it for free. The coil buckets are SO very close to a match (about a 1/2" difference), same bolt pattern so I can keep my wheels. The driveshaft from the Ranger will bolt right up to the D30. The HP D30 is a littl stornger than the low pinion...

Now, IF that ZJ D30 has the CV joint axle shafts, get something different, or get some better 297/760 jointed axles at the junkyard.

well what im trying to do is get rid of the ttb up front. wanted 66 bronco axles but face it im in the upper pennisula of michigan and lots of salt cant find them without paying big bucks. im a logger and make a chunk but not that much plus going that way would lower my gear ratio and thats good cuz they normaly have 410s or 411s. so kinda in a spot. any help would be just tits.
