Hey all...new to the site, but I like what I see. On a similar one for my Mustang...but I digress. I have a '94 that's making some noise and vibration at what feek like the frame level. I crawled under tonight and it looks like the carrier bearing is about shot. I read on a post her that a '98-'00 single unit can be used. Does anyone know if it needs to be cut or otherwise mod'd?
The bearing replacment looks straighforward, but if I could get rid of it, I will.
Thanx much...

Yes, as long as you get one from a 2wd.

Good info in the tech library under 1-piece driveshaft swap. Most have to lightly trim the gas tank skid plate, but thats it.

No skidplate if it's a 2WD

What I HAVE heard though is the larger shaft might hit against the floor of the rear part of the cab. A little "massaging" with a hammer should take care of it if this happens.

Also, make sure the truck you get the shaft from has the same transmission as yours (stick or auto), as the output spline is different.
