94 b4000 axle swap/offroad build

i acctually need a whole drivers side light assembely. At a dirt bike race i took off in a hurry like a dummy. Tryin to get to the gate for practice and put my handle bar thru it. I never even noticed it happend till i was lookin at my bike and noticed something yellow and reflective stuck in my bark buster. I later noticed the lens is busted out.

as far as a locker i keep throwing around the idea of tossin in a spool. the tuck might see over a mile of pavement once a week. other than that I drive a company vehicle. so mid week i use it to run to the store. twice this summer i drove it about 75 miles to races other than that it doesnt see much road use

That hole is decieving due to being extremely slick, and having an excessive amount of logs jammed in it from people trying to get out. If you watch everytime my truck stops i have to rock it OVER "something" in the mud but im sure a locker would help. i dont want to be able to just walk thru all my favorite trails cuz what fun is that. the more difficult trails are about 10 miles out and i do enjoy hittin the trails after work once in a while

BTW here is a pic of the my brother in law's rig stuck in the same whole cuz the tire's wouldnt clear. comparing to the people I "TYPICALLY" wheel with it does allright. he's also runnin super swamper TrXus MT's that are cut so they have about the same amount of tread as mine. and prolly have alittle more Void inbetween the lugs

In the mud I would lock it, or at least a selectable locker so if you do need it, its there but when you don't need/want it, the option is there.

Looks like he needs to do a SAS next.

I agree except for the price difference

As far as SAS on the Bll we found a 4'' BDS lift for 150 Bones. allready put on a 3'' body lift and we have a dana 35 sitting next to the garage for it. The build page is "Dirty White Boy" . The page should be updated soon with pics of the S/l as we should be pullin his truck outta the garage tomorrow night for a lil test drive. He has less into the whole build so far than I have into my long arms. He has a way of finding smokin deals and i'm not sure how he does it.

as for the BDS lift it does have the drop plate and once we swap in the 35 he will most likely switch out the plate for the correct bracket.

Now were just searching for a 4.0 for it

wow great looking truck i like it alot, do you have a picture on how you mounted the spare tire?

Yeah i built the carrier it ties into my headache rack and my rear bumper. for the spindle i used a 2'' Nut bolt and welded some tubing to it

BTW most likely all of this will be comin off I hate washing out the bed after a good day of wheeling. lookin at finding a toneau cover and modifying a van ladder rack to fit over it and i will just mount the spare tire to the rack along with my High Lift, Axe, and Shovel. then i can keep everything in the bed a little bit cleaner. Who Likes a cooler full of Mud

Might have just destroyed my box but im not sure. i'll have to see how it works for the long run. I will be taking the headace rack off shortly. i hate washing out the back of the truck so i will be throwing on a tooneau cover and be able to just switch to the topper when i go camping/racing.

That's actually a great idea and I've never seen anybody do that. I like it.

I just got a look at your rear tires and have to say you have definatly put them to the test in a short amount of time.

i got them used.. lookin for a set of tsl's but not having much luck. depending on how heating seasone goes. i might break down and buy new one's. gonna be a little harder to explain to the wife since we just found out we have a baby on the way.

hey, congrats on the baby.

I like the idea of the hilift on the outside of the bed, I've seen them done on step side and on the inside of the bed.

Congrats man on the baby man!!!!!!!!!!

Ya it might be difficult to explain that but get them now, you wont have to later. At least you got the major money stuff don to the truck........for now at least.

WATCH OUT MIGHIGAN

While i was pullin up to the side of the road a local cop stoped and started out casually. Mentioning that he liked my truck and has seen it around town before. he also told me that state trooper's are now inspecting (and tickiting any violations) lifted vehicle's when stoped for any reason. He Gave me a piece of paper that has the lift law's and law's that apply to a lifted vehicle. He went on to tell me what he wheel's and i knew what truck it was right away and how trailering it from trail to trail is really not worth it since we dont have any dedicated wheeling area's but have an abundance of trails scattered around... WOW I ,and just about anyone else with a lifted/ modified vehicle is screwed if they get inspected. My shackle's are in violation as is my front bumper,
Bumper need's to be a minimum of 4'' wide and shackle's cannont exceed 2'' longer than factory equipment. I guess a huge shackle drop bracket is safer

the first thing on the list is all steering components shall be geometrically arranged to function as original equipment. there are to be no welds or welded part's on/ or to the pitman arm, drag link'(s), and tierod's.
Glad i went the threaded way. and hydro assist is off the future mod list.

Guess since they legalized pot they need another group to make the outlaw's
I was amazed at some of the thing's on the list.

Ouch. Well you know over sized shackles are a lot worse than 10" lift blocks and axle wrap

I see you got your thread name changed. Sorry to hear about the lift laws....that's annoying.
