I don't see anywhere this would really fit as far as forums are concerned.

But anyway, I have a trailer made from an 87 Ranger. Will a bed off of a '93+ bolt on the '87 frame in the OEM mounting spots? I know I can make anything fit, I'm just wondering if I can just do a straight swap.

Thank you much!

EDIT: Holy hell.... I meant 93 and up in the title. GOSH!

yes you can as the floor pan of the bed are the same from 83-around 2008 or newer when they changed to a different bolt pattern,ie: metric dimensions

so im assuming your gonna get a 93+ bed so your trailer will match your truck?

Yeah, I am trying to work something out like that. My 87 bed is in bad shape, so I've been skimming the local classifieds.

the bedsides are drastically wider on the newer beds, it looks REALLY funny, a stepside bed looks better than a normal one but still a little weird...

Are you meaning if a 93+ bed was mated with a 83-92 cab? Or would it look weird as a trailer as well?

It will bolt right on. The only problem I can see is that the 93+ axle is a little wider. The wheels may sit a little deep in the wheel wells if you dont put on spacers or swap in a newer rear.

I dont know about the older rear bumper fitting with the newer bed.

That might be better if the bed is a little wider. My bumper was made from some scrap they were throwing away at work (my first weld job).

EDIT: I can't get the guy who is parting the Ranger to respond. Damn it all!

oh, I thought you were putting it on a first gen ranger, not a trailer... misunderstood
