im trying to figure out what year and or model vehicle uses the same a/c compressor as my 94 ranger 2.3 Im trying to refine or expand my search so i dont drive 50miles to get one off a craiglist cuz the guy says "sure,it'll fit" or pass one up cuz i didnt know what years were interchangeable

Did a quick search and this one seems to be universal for alot of years/models. I imagine it depends on the clutch your engine needs the pumps look the same to me. If your getting used I wouldnt trust one that has been open to ambient air for any amount of time. A rebuilt or new will put you money ahead unless you get real lucky.

The most likely answer is that you have a FS10 using R134a coolant. The switch from FX15/R12 to FS10/R134a was made between the 93 and 94 model years. The FX15 cannot be used with R134a.

Any of these miniature compressors are notoriously difficult to rebuild properly so you're better off with a new one than with a remanufactured.
