Hello just wondering is the 4.0 from a 94 the same as a 96?

There are differences. Becomes very important if rebuilding and interchanging parts.

I have a 96 I need a motor for I found a 94 just wondering if it will swap or not

Yes it will swap 100%. Does the truck it's going into have EGR?

Yes, just swap the heads and block, bolt your '96 intake, exhaust, Cam sensor and oil pan/pump(if different) to it.

That way all your wiring will be the same

Well that's the problem I bought the truck with no engine in it and I found a 94 that runs I was going to buy for the motor and transmission out of it

1994 has an EEC-IV computer(OBD I), no Camshaft Sensor Synchronizer
1996 has an EEC-V computer(OBD II), with Camshaft Sensor Synchronizer

You could buy a 1996 Camshaft Sensor Synchronizer to put in the '94

Not sure about the connectors for the other sensors through, I think they should be the same.
