Okay guys so i have a 1994 ranger. Its currently a running driving 4.0 v6 with a manual tranny. It has a 4 inch suspeniosn lift and 33inch goodyears. Lover the truck but since day one ive wnated to put in a v8. so i went out and bought a 302. its out of an 1986 thunderbird. rear sump oil pan. basic stock heads. nothing fancy just intake. Plan on putting a 650 carb setup on it. I found a 1988 f150 i buy for parts. Im thinking use the tranny and t-case out of that and swapping it in the ranger. I was going to use my factory rubber motor mounts and make steel plates to bolt onto the 302. trying to keep heat but dont care if ac goes. Going to go with a duraspark dizzy and ignitions setup graphed into my harness. Most likely electric fans. stock radiator. My real question is that ive always wanted to solid axle swap my truck. I know the f150 axles are wider. But does anyone know how much? Then i really only have to get my drive shafts shortened. Use the f150 leaf springs in the back with the axle. as for the front i wanted to find another set of f150 springs or jeep springs and leaf spring the front. i can make custom steering bars. Just asking what you guys think.
