- What's the worst that could happen?
Getting a 177 error code after engine warms up - about 5-7 minutes. It is a "Continuous Memory" code that shows HEGO ((HO2S) Sensor fault/always rich.
HEGO = Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen sensor. So what exactly is it telling me? I get that it's telling me it's running a rich mix, but why does it take 5-7 minutes to show up?
I did have an exhaust leak at the connection of the crossover to the headers, but that has been taken care of - so no exhaust issues that oould cause that. Could the headers cause it? I'm not too alarmed by it, but wold like to know more about it, causes, etc. Thanks in advance.
