Truck info is in my avatar thingy to the left.

Doing an emergency engine swap, ready to put the new engine (from 94 exploder) in. Plugged the EGR plug, it's my understanding that the only difference besides that is the presence of a Camsaft Position Sensor, which I don't have a plug for anyways so if there's not a missing input then the ECU won't miss it. Am I correct in this?

Thanks!

Justin.

That is right. If the computer doesn't know the sensor is on the engine it won't care that it isn't plugged in.

There is another MAJOR difference...

The 1994 Wiring harness to the injectors has SEVEN wires

On a Non-SEFI 1993 you have only THREE injector wires

MAny refer to the 1993 4.0 as "Bank" fire, but it's more properly refered to as "Batch fire"

As on each injector cycle two cylinders on one side and one cylinder on the other fire.

In any event you need to swap over the "on engine" harness from your "retired" 1993
engine to the "new" 1994 engine.
