I have a 1994 Ranger 3.0 automatic 2WD. When it's cold the thing just runs horrible like its extremely rich or something and is completely gutless. It'll top out at about 35mph on the flats. It seems like it takes forever to shift out of first gear as well regardless if the pedal is to the floor or just barely feathering it, once it gets up to temp it shifts/runs great though.
It's been getting worse and worse over the past few months
I have to get this thing fixed as soon as possible, its killing my mileage. I only use it to drive to work (which is only about 2 miles away) so it never really gets up to temp. Its getting about 15 mpg right now. It used to get about 25-28.
If somebody could help me out I would appreciate it!
I just put new O2 sensors in it, a new cat, new plugs/plug wires, air cleaner new oil/filter and thermostat to get it through DEQ and it passed fine.
I also cleaned out the EGR a while back.
The trucks got about 290000 miles on it but the engine/trans have been rebuilt at least a couple times.
