My 94' Ford Ranger V6 3.0 Stick 5spd wouldn't start back up today on the job. I replaced practically the entire ignition system last year and have not had any real issues with it in that time. The ignition related parts I've replaced in the last 1.5yrs are as follows:
*Spark Plugs, Spark Plugs Wires, Ignition Coil + Wire, Ignition Control Module (ICM), Entire Distributor, Starter Clinoid, New Starter, New Battery, New Alternator*

I was driving all day back and forth to the dump and and my last job it wouldn't start back up after being parked. The truck cranks real strong but doesn't seem to "grab" or start the truck. I tried testing for spark with a screwdriver and couldn't find any so I got a ride to the auto shop and bought a new ignition coil (my only guess), but no luck.

I just got towed home, I took off the Distributor Cap and verified that the rotor was spinning when cranked. I tested for voltage at the ICM plug when cranked and verified that it receive 12V each time the rotor spun over it's mark. I also verified the fuel pump had pressure by nudging the fuel rail port with a knife and had fuel spray into my face.

I'm trying to researching similar issue online but I've already replaced all the likely culprits and am having trouble finding the problem.

I had to cancel my jobs for tomorrow so I'm trying to find and fix the issue ASAP. All advise/ideas are appreciated, cheers.

I would try to read the codes and see if anything comes up.

Check ground wires? There should be a ground near the wiper motor that connects to the driver's cylinder head, one up near the clutch slave cylinder on the sidewall, one near the driver's headlight, one near the starter on the engine block and a clip style ground that goes from the hood to the frame near the heater hoses on the passenger side.

The problem ended up being the ignition control module that I replaced last year.
I assumed mine was still good because they shouldn't go out that quickly, but upon replacing it, everything fired up.

The reason mine gave out so quickly is that I had an incomplete short circuit between my alternators B+ wire and the starter solenoid relay after the fusible link. The short circuit was incomplete because my truck kept the wire bouncing slightly. When I tried charging my battery yesterday with jumper cables, it started to catch fire with thick white smoke coming from under the hood.

My newest post is trying to fix that short and problems that came with it. Alternator doesn't want to recharge my battery now.

Thanks guys.
