94 2.3 to 2.5 sawp info

Hi all, I am not new to 2.3T but my NA 2.3 is getting tired and I can get a 2.5L fairly cheap.

I am looking for the cheapest way possible doing the swap.

So - I know that the 2.5 is EDIS and the 2.3 is DIS, but if i run a stock 94 computer can i use a EDIS4 module with the SAW and PIP signal?

Will the 2.3 eec work with the 2.5? I am OBD1

is there a writeup on this swap?

Not too bad a swap,few holes to drill and some fab.A lot of info on this has been covered on this site in the past.

Yes I read some stuff on it but nothing addressing the DIS/EDIS. Can i just swap the front covers? I think the 4 bolts the hold the cover 2 are in different places.

I put a '89 cover on a '86 engine, I then had to drill the three holes for the sensor, wasn't all that bad using the stock engine to make a template

I know neither is a 2.5, but the '94 crank sensor is probably the same as the '89 I was working with

yes, '89 crank sensor to a '86 turbocoupe engine...

I just recently installed a 98 2.5 in a 94 ranger. I used all the electronics and fuel injection / wire harness stuff off the 94 and swaped it to the 2.5 long block. You have to drill a couple holes for the crank sencor. By the way I am using a 89 crank pulley & ballancer with the 89 ckp sencor. The 94 computer is working it just fine.
